How can we help local coffee shops?
I was traveling in Ireland just before things with COVID-19 started to really escalate. Even then, most of the coffee shops I walked into were taking precautions like not accepting personal cups and removing self-service condiment bars. When we got home and the situation escalated, it became pretty clear to me that small, local shops were going to feel the pressure.
Tips for Supporting Local Coffee Shops:
Buy bags of coffee, merch or gift cards online.
Order take out!
Many Stay-At-Home orders from local governments still allow take-out food businesses to stay open, check your local shops social media feeds to see if they are offering take out!
Share your favorite roaster with your friends on social media!
Encourage your friends to buy from local roasters and order take-out.
Interact with their posts on social media. Liking, commenting, and sharing help their visibility to the various algorithms. Every little boost helps!

Tip really well when you order take-out
Ask about “virtual tip jars” or fundraising campaigns for your local baristas
